Presidential Ramblings

Greetings fellow Porsche Pushers! It’s the first of the month and time to write another “Ramblings.” It’s September and I find myself wondering where is the summer going? I know I’m not the only one looking for more summer. I never look forward to the end of the driving season (or the cycling season).

Don’t fret yet; there are still lots of good “Porsche” events left in this season. Joining with the Inland NW region, the wine tour and the October A & D are still in front of us. Mike Simmons has arranged a great “end of the season” tour for us to the LeMay Museum in Tacoma with other great stops and things to do to keep us amused. Don’t forget to book that room as soon as you can.

Thank you Bill Shaw! As Jess Felder was quick to point out, without all of Bill’s hard work and vision our Region would have not have won that second place web award at Parade. So again “thank you” to Bill and Jesse for all of your hard work and support of our club.

News Flash! The Carrera track day that was to be in October has been cancelled. So sad because they are always a fun event and Carrera and Porsche did it right.

Thanks to all of you who have signed the petition that I’ve been carrying around. The motorsports community is trying to convince the Deschutes County Fairgrounds to repave the parking lots. Two years ago the Fairgrounds chip-sealed the parking lots to the protests of their many users and none of use have been back. We, the Porsche Club, could use a well-paved facility so we could have another driving skills event, a place for another Funkana and even an autocross.

Get out and drive your Porsche and keep the shinny side-up!

Auf Wiedersehen!
