Presidential Ramblings

“It’s not just the cars, it’s the people” and the people become our Porsche family.  It’s with sadness that I tell you that we lost one of our family, Linda Snodgrass.  Dennis, your Porsche family feels your loss and your sorrow also.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
This is a time of looking back and reflection for me.  After three years as your club President it’s time to step aside.  Pete Olson will be our new club President as of January 1.  Pete brings lots of Porsche enthusiasm (have you seen his garage?)  to the job and to our club.  I’m positive he will do great things for the club during his tenure.
There have been changes to our club over the past years all in pursuit of making our club a better club.  Is it? I think so and I hope you feel the same way.  We’ve had slow and steady growth, from 125 primary members to the current 165 primary members.  This year we had a record 42 Porsches on an Arrive and Drive!  Not just new members, but active new members.  Why?  I believe it’s because we are doing fun events and we are enjoying each other’s company.  Change will continue and our club will evolve, because without change we will go stagnant and wither.  I say we have a bright future and good times to look forward to!
To all the club members of the High Desert Region I say, “Thank you for your support”.
To the core members: “Thank you”.  Without your willingness to welcome and share with the new members, we would never have grown.
To our new members: “Thank you”.  For joining our club, giving us a chance and becoming part of our Porsche family.  Please feel free to share your likes and dislikes with us, that’s how we get better.
To all the Board members these past three years: “Thank you”.
I look forward to the future of our club.  I’m sure the growth will continue.  The events will continue to be great and continue to evolve.  Our “electronic” growth will continue and keep improving.  Our Porsche family will continue to grow stronger.  I’m looking forward to the future of our club and will help in any way that I can.  Will you?  Your continued engagement is the key to our club’s success.
This is the most wonderful time of the year and I wish everyone a happy and safe Holiday Season!
Auf Wiedersehen!
