Presidential Ramblings June 2014

by | May 28, 2014 | Presidential Ramblings | 0 comments

Yes… Yes… Yes!  June is here, and everyone is enthusiastically filling in their calendars for all sorts of exciting summer activities!  So much to do, & we live in such a beautiful part of the world to get it done.

Keep checking our HDR website at www.highdesert.pca.org to learn what 2014 Porsche events are planned.

Community Support:  I’d like to reflect on just how fortunate we are, and of our willingness to give back to the community, with the following story:

We hosted guests from Central Oregon Community College (automotive) & Deschutes Risk Avoidance (Skid School) at our May 21st social held at Club Carrera (Porsche of Bend).  This was our opportunity to present each with a check of $2520.00, which they will apply to scholarships and Skid School class attendance (18 students).   Both organizations extended their great appreciation to our members, and highlighted how very much these funds benefit their recipients.  I would also like to extend my sincere appreciation to our HDR members who dedicated their time, energy & money to make these funds available.

HDR Website: We are continuing to work on refreshing our HDR website to make it more user friendly and exciting.  Stand by!

Opportunities for you: Now… this is where “you” come in, the exciting part of the website equation!  Send us stories and photos from your latest HDR Porsche adventure.  It’s these individual recollections of the fun & enjoyment which we have experienced that make for great reading!

I’ll make it really easy for you, just send the stories & photos to me at visach9@gmail.com  I will make sure they get to our new editor, Jim Boyd at j.r.boyd.iii@gmail.com for posting.

And now… another opportunity:  We are looking for a HDR “event coordinator” to work with the HDR members who are planning the various club events, & ensure that timely information is available to be posted on our website.  Jim Lewis has done an outstanding job in this regard, however he finds that operating all of his bike shops really is taking the majority of his time.  Let me know if this volunteer position suits you!

“Enjoy your Porsche and Porsche Friends, even more”
