Presidential Ramblings – December 2014

Hi,

So... here we are, downshifting gears into the High Desert winter mode.

November is the month of transition, with some club members heading off to Arizona, Mexico and even Hawaii.  A few more will likely disappear after the first of the year.

But “not to fear”, the High Desert Region Porsche Club still remains active during the “non-driving” months.  Things like: chili cook-off, cars and coffee, Wed evening social, and who knows, maybe a couple of other fun events!

 Congratulations and thank you to the HDR team that took part in the Hwy 20 roadside clean-up.  “Read all about it” (along with photos) in the recent events/photos section of our website.  A special “thank you” to the organizer & taskmaster Joe Mansfield!

 In the meantime, I took off to the 2014 Porsche Escape in Orlando Florida.  It was a three day event held at Disney World.  A long way to drive, so I flew and rented a Camaro convertible, which really didn’t exactly fit right in...

 However, I did link up with a great couple from Denver, and was very comfortable in the back seat of their Panamera on the driving tours each day, we had a great time and even drove on the beach at Daytona!
