Happy New Year!
2014 was a “great year”… and for 2015 it only gets better!
Thank you to all of the volunteers who graciously devoted time and energies in making 2014 a success! The friendships, teamwork and camaraderie all added up to many great experiences.
Our Holiday Party “Beneath the Shimmering Pines” at the Bend Country Club was one of those great experiences! A special “thank you” to Sue Hagner, for stepping up and orchestrating this beautiful event. I know that Nancy Farnham, plus others, also worked tirelessly to make this event a success.
The “silent auction” at the party, was our annual opportunity to raise 2015 HDR funds for support of the following two organizations:
- Deschutes County Skid Car Training Program Our contributions sent 28 High School students to training class in 2014, to learn how to drive on ice & snow. (We have received very positive feedback from these students)
- Central Oregon Community College Automotive Scholarship Fund (Another positive way of giving back to our community)
“Thank you” to Ann & Mike Sampson, and Judy & Walt Luse for taking the initiative, and spending many hours, at pulling this auction together! I know that the 2015 recipients will be very appreciative of our continued generosity.
And now for the years “Grand Finale” … On Saturday evening (Dec 27th) Porsche of Bend gave the High Desert Region Porsche Club a private showing of the spectacular 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder. This 918 is one of only 918 planned to be built, and indications are that it will be a part of the Bend Porsche scene throughout 2015!
And, in closing… we are actively planning our HDR event calendar for 2015, soon to be posted on our website @ www.highdesertpca.org
We are always looking for new event ideas, and would love to hear from you. Our driving events are a perfect way to discover the back roads, and fantastic places throughout Oregon. Places that you didn’t even know existed, or you have never taken the time to visit…
So… if you have some event ideas, please contact our Event Coordinator Scott Loring .
Also, let Scott know if you would be willing to help plan and coordinate an activity. We encourage you to “just do it”, even if you haven’t done one before… many of our seasoned veterans are there to give you a helping hand.
We look forward to hearing from you!
All the “very best” to you in 2015!
Enjoy your Porsche & Porsche Friends Even More!
