1st Track Session ORP – April 2015

We gathered in the early morning darkness of the Best Buy parking lot under a Lunar Eclipse for our drive up to Oregon Raceway Park for the Season’s First Track Day of 2015. HDR had seven drivers, Steve Cunningham, Mark McConnell,  Jonathan Smith, Roger Egle, Bren Hirschberg, Joe Justice, and Josh Simmons at the track as well as three instructors, Tim Hagner, Mike Simmons and Kevin Neary.

A good crowd with a wide variety of cars made the track day fun! The uncertain weather started cold, but turned out to be a perfect day for track activities. With lots of instruction available, multiple run sessions and no incidents to slow the pace, everyone had a great day with lots of “seat time”. There was still plenty of time for trading track stories and tips in the paddock.

Thanks to the Autocross Club of Central Oregon for putting on the event! More days at ORP are scheduled so watch for the next one. It’s a terrific way to become more skilled at driving these wonderful Porsches and realizing their potential!
