Bren Hirschberg - Director of Touring & Track Events

Kendall Porsche of Bend (organized by Rene Verbrugge and friends) sponsored an HPDE at Portland International Raceway with Hooked On Driving as the Vendor May 14th.  It was a complete experience with a Tour over for Bend drivers, stay at the Vancouver Hilton, Dinner at Salty’s on the Columbia River, and a full day of track experience and instruction. About 12 HDR members and a few spouses and relatives took advantage of the event.

Bren Hirschberg organized and led the 5-hour tour to Vancouver through every type of climate and scenery Oregon has to offer! We were fortunate on the weather and only got a free car wash when we got high up on Mt. Hood, otherwise sunny and gorgeous.

Dinner was fun at Salty’s and lots of Kendall customers from the Portland area joined the crowd. The track day started a bit cool and grey, but warmed up, sunned-up, and turned out to be a perfect day for track activities. HDR members were assigned to 3 different groups, depending on experience and everyone got LOTS of “seat-time”-about 2 hours!! The Instructors were great, no incidents occurred, and we all improved our skills and learned what these great cars are capable of. Our next HDR HPDE day is in August at ORP- don’t miss it!
