Bren Hirschberg - Director @ Large

[soliloquy id="5237"]

A large crowd (including 10 Porsche Ladies) gathered at Bren and Shannon Hirschberg’s shop for the February Cars N Coffee. The theme for the morning was “You Can Do It Yourself”, encouraging HDR members to take on small or large improvement projects on their Porsches themselves. As examples, 4 HDR members Bren Hirschberg, Tim Hagner, Jerry Kolb, and Mark McConnell brought examples of their current projects.

Tim Hagner showed off his “factory-fresh-appearing” 3.2 engine and transmission from his Carrera which he has been giving a make-over. Jerry Kolb discussed his recently-acquired 1966 912 that has begun a complete restoration. Mark McConnell walked us through his deep-restoration of a 72 914. Bren showed his 71 911T that is in the final stages of restoration, and his previous 914-6 project.

After short presentations, all the cars and owners were available for close inspection and questions. Other members who have ongoing or completed projects were in attendance and Mike Simmons, Fred Nielsen, Tim Morris (driving an uber-hot GT3RS), Jeff Smith (with a 964RS), David  Vadman, David Perce, Phil Fenn, and other handy guys were there and all had stories and advice. We can all benefit from other’s experiences – and missteps!

Thanks to all who participated for a fun morning! Don’t forget…”If the women don’t find you handsome, they should at least find you handy”.
