Adopt-A-Road Cleanup – April 9, 2016

Our spirited and dedicated group of about twenty members met on this beautiful, bright blue Saturday morning to complete our semi annual ODOT cleanup commitment.  The group met at our traditional Highway 20 location, about ten miles south of Sisters.  Look for our HDR Adopt-A-Road signs posted on each side of the highway next time you are in the area.

Fueled by Richard's donuts and fresh brewed coffee, the group enthusiastically picked up trash and roadside debris to fill many bright yellow ODOT bags.  Knowing that "trash" prizes were on the line provided extra incentive for the members as well.  Congratulations to Sam Davis for winning the prize for "heaviest bag of trash" and to Kathi Loring for her double ended gear wrench, which won the prize for the "most unusual/unique item found."  Once again, our club president Pete planted additional items for the group to locate.  All five of his hidden one dollar bills plus two HDR Porsche key chains were found by the group.  However, locating the dollar bill wrapped inside that piece of pipe took some extra effort.  Very tricky hiding from Pete indeed!!

We look forward to having you join our group for the next cleanup Saturday in the Fall.  It is a fun, social and relaxed time when we do something worthwhile for our beautiful community.  Our club is dedicated to this obligation for the community and it's desire to assist in keeping our Central Oregon highways green and clean.

With our heartfelt thanks and appreciation.  See you next time.
