Pete Olson - High Desert Region PCA President
WOW!!! August just sped on by… I realized that I did not attend a “single” local High Desert Region event! However, I do have some great alibis, so here we go…
Saturday August 6th: While you were out driving on the Central Oregon back roads, Al Koseliski & I headed over at the Redmond COCC Campus to run our Porsches on their new Dynamometer. It was a very interesting day, learning about the power and torque curves of each Porsche. All three of our Porsches had free flow exhaust modifications, and in each case the measured horsepower exceeded manufactures specs.
Then, Al’s 2001 Boxster S was on stage…

Finally, my 1984 3.2 Carrera closed out the day… with the cooling fan behind, at the business end….
Moving right along… I missed the August 17th Wed evening social, since I was down in Monterey for Car Week & Porsche WERKS Reunion. You likely have seen the WERKS photos & videos on several websites, so you are aware of the magnitude of the event. 500 Porsches were judged, with another 500 in the Porsche parking corral. PCA is fueled by volunteers, I volunteered as a judge.

Even the Porsche Corral parking was amazing!
And… last but not least, I missed the August 27th Cars & Coffee at Jerry Kolb’s garage… I was off to Medford to assist with their Driver Skills Clinic. It was a very successful event! Read all about it in this month’s Downshift.

Oh… and on August 3rd, Sam & Carolyn Davis arranged for several members of High Desert Region PCA to deliver the 55 stuffed animals, which we collected, to the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Department. All of the animals were very well received! “Thank You” to all who contributed to this project! Read all about it in this month’s Downshift.
And now… Your opportunity to “shine”! How you ask? Register to show your Porsche at the “Porsches of the High Desert” event, in conjunction with the Sept 24th Oregon Festival of Cars at The Brokentop Country Club.
We have invited the Zone 6 Region Porsche Clubs to join us at the event, and are looking forward to hosting them, & having a “very enjoyable” time!
Check our HDR website for further details, & see exactly how to register…
We are looking forward to making an impressive showing!
If you have any questions, contact Jerry Kolb (303-881-1012) I’m looking forward to seeing you there!
And in closing… check our HDR website for other 2016 events which may “peak” your interest!
Wishing you “great success” as we are making
“2016 Our Best Year Ever!”
Enjoy your Porsche & Porsche Friends Even More!
