Introducing Treffen North America – experiencing America’s best roads and destinations. It takes the place of PCA Escape and includes a re-branding and re-positioning of the event within those offered by the Porsche Club of America.
The first three Treffen destinations were chosen to complement the locations of Porsche Parade 2016 in Jay Peak, Vermont and Parade 2017 in Spokane, Washington by offering a national PCA event within driving distance of the membership.
The inaugural Treffen Lake Tahoe, in partnership with the Sierra Nevada Region, is scheduled for September 7-11, 2016 at the Resort at Squaw Creek in Olympic Valley, California. Squaw Valley hosted the 1960 Winter Olympics, the first held in North America.
The first springtime event is Treffen Hill Country set for March 30 – April 2, 2017 at the Hyatt Lost Pines Resort outside of Austin, Texas. The Hill Country Region is our partner for this groundbreaking event.
This arrangement between Treffen and the regions has already achieved the desired results for PCA, as the newly formed Appalachian Region, with less than 200 members, is set to co-host Treffen Asheville September 20-24, 2017. Their region includes what are arguably some of the best driving roads in America and a historic four-star resort: the Omni Grove Park Inn.
Working in partnership with local regions, PCA National negotiates and holds all contracts; develops, operates and maintains the website; promotes the event, arranges sponsorships, orders collateral materials, and handles registration. These tasks, and their associated financial exposure, have been the greatest challenge to regions that produced an Escape in the past. Under the Treffen model, the regions are left to do what they know best: find the best driving roads, local attractions and lead the drives to those venues.
The Treffen website is scheduled to launch later this years and will contain information on the resorts and destination. Registration for the various Treffens will open approximately three months prior to the event. Space is limited and each of these spectacular events will sell out.
