Thankfully the weather cooled down to a very comfortable mid 80’s temperature. The “Flag City USA”, (Redmond) crowd was out in full force. We are always amazed at how many people line up along 6th Street in Redmond every 4th of July. Your club was well represented with 17 cars this year. We were led off by Tomjack in his bright Red 1979 SC, the Welch’s white 356 complete with puppy followed by Wollesen’s 2001 Dark Blue 911 completing our red, white and blue salute to our flag. Members of the crowd seemed to appreciate the color theme.
Next year I will coach the announcer about how to pronounce “Porsche”, sorry about that. She did give a nice description of our community service activities.
Again, we bested the Corvette club in numbers and decorations. Thank you everyone.
Following the parade those interested in the “Arrive and Drive” and BBQ lunch assembled at the American Legion Park. From there we made our way through Tumalo and on to Widgi Creek Golf Course. They provided a very nice spread and shaded tables looking out over the beautiful course.
