HDPCA Baker City Weekend

On July 25-27, 2014 visit beautiful Baker City, nestled between the Wallowa Mountains and the Blue Mountains. 
The driving tour will take us over the Ochocos, past the Painted Hills, along the John Day River and over Huckleberry Pass.
A block of rooms is reserved at the Geiser Grand Hotel, a charming landmark, with crystal chandeliers, a majestic stained glass ceiling and mahogany columns which inspire wonder and romance.  The wide Main St. and side streets are lined with large historic brick buildings.
Activities abound, including the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center, the Sumpter Valley Railway, Baker Heritage Museum, Barley Brown’s Brewpub, and drives along the Elkhorn and Blue Mountains Scenic Byways.

 

Friday night dinner will be a buffet dinner at the Geiser Grand with prime rib, baby back ribs and Whiskey bread pudding.  Saturday night’s BBQ will be hosted by David and Lisa Coughlin on their cattle ranch and will feature tri-tip beef and pulled pork sandwiches.
