Beneath the Shimmering Pine – Holiday Dinner 2014

by | Dec 30, 2014 | 2014-rear-view-articles

102 High Desert Porsche Club Enthusiasts met “beneath the shimmering pines” on December 6th at the Bend Golf and Country Club for our annual Holiday Dinner and Silent Auction.

We nibbled on hors d-oeuvres and sipped libations, all provided by Porsche of Bend, while bidding on a plethora of silent auction items. This was also a time to reminisce about the past Porsche year and all the enjoyable times we’ve shared with each other. We then dined on the excellent choices of either NY steak, salmon or mushroom ravioli.  We topped off dinner with cheesecake or chocolate cake for dessert, Mmmm…

There are so many people to thank for this successful event:

Thanks to all the club members who attended this event and contributed to its tremendous success.

Thanks to my Co-Chair, Evie Shaw and to Shannon Hirschberg for running registration while I was running around.

Nancy Farnham’s beautiful silver and teal decorations and programs only partly conveyed the hours of hard work involved in getting them ready for our event.

Ann & Mike Sampson, Walter & Judy Luce, Scott & Kathy Loring and Steve Beer worked the night away to make our Silent Auction and Raffle such a huge success.  We raised over $5000 for our two charities.

Thanks again to Porsche of Bend for providing the hors d-oeuvres, dessert and one complimentary drink ticket for each attendee.

It is absolutely true that “it not just the cars, it’s the people”.  Thank you all for attending and making our Holiday Dinner a very special night.
