Our first drive for 2015 was a fun one! Led by Richard and Nancy Farnham, nineteen freshly spruced Porsches left our standard Bend meeting place (the Best Buy parking lot) at 9am and motored under clear, but cool skies towards Sisters. Our driving plan took us past our HDR Adopt-A-Road sign where we took a cut-off to drive some curvy and little used back roads to Smith Rock. We had two groups five minutes apart and we didn’t meet up together until Prineville. There we availed ourselves of the restroom facilities at the local park and feasted on Nancy’s super delicious homemade brownies, jelly beans and yellow “peeps” with bottled water to wash down the calories. After our refreshments and socialization, we headed back to Bend along the Crooked River passing the dam and reservoir. Some splendid scenery! We had a taste of spirited, but safe driving and ended with a fine lunch back in Bend at the new Jackson’s Corner. Thanks to the Farnhams for helping to stretch our “car” legs after the winter hibernation!
