Tom Anderson

        Tom Anderson

  March 3, 1943 - April 8, 2015

Paul Thomas Anderson (Tom) passed peacefully on April 8th 2015 after a short but brave battle with cancer.

Tom was born & raised in southern California, receiving a BS in Economics, University of California at Berkeley and a MBA from Pepperdine University, California.

He migrated north to Bend, Oregon in 1978 where he founded Carrera Motors.  The dealership grew steadily over the 32 years of his ownership & became a haven for like-minded enthusiasts.

During that time, Carrera Motors was the recipient of many awards of excellence from its represented franchises. Tom sold the Bend business in February, 2014.  He retained Carrera Medford, his high-end used car dealership which is still doing business in Medford, Oregon.

Tom & his wife Karen were PCA members for over 35 years. They were also founding members of the High Desert Region PCA 15 years ago & remained active, as huge supporters of club activities through their Porsche dealership in Bend, OR as well as on a personal level.

Tom enjoyed cars, particularly Porsches, golf, travel, houseboats, water-skiing, poker, tennis, snow skiing, reading, & his collie dog, McKenzie.

Tom is survived by: Karen Olsen Anderson (wife); sons, Michael Scott Anderson and Mark Olsen McInnis; daughter, Erika Leigh Wagner (husband, Todd); grandchildren, Serena and Gavin Wagner; brother Ted L Anderson (wife, Shirley); a niece and two nephews.

Donations may be made in his name to either: CASA of Central Oregon, 1435 NE Fourth St., Suite C, Bend, Oregon 97701, or the Opportunity Foundation of Central Oregon, PO Box 430, Redmond, OR, 97756.

Note:The May 20th Member Dinner is cancelled due to the same day reception at Club Carrera following the church service.  The HDR is planning a “headlights on” driving tribute from the church to Club Carrera for all those attending the memorial and reception.  Times and more detailed information will be sent to all club members as it becomes available from the family.
