Twenty-five energetic and “flexible” members gathered on Highway 20 near Sisters, OR to bag up an assortment of roadside debris to satisfy our semi-annual ODOT commitment. We did a lot of bending over, but there were no back injuries! And the weather was clear and warm, just like the camaraderie.

Thanks to everyone who turned out to fill their trash bags to the limit! There was a prize for most litter collected, won by Polly and Greg Snyder. And the prize for most unusual rubbish gathered (you wouldn’t believe this stuff), went to Rodger Mathus. We were joined roadside by the “Trash King”, TJ Tomjack, who was instrumental in starting this program and even has his own customized vest! (See photo)
Next time you are on Hwy 20 in the Sisters area; keep an eye out for our HDR sign (in either direction) that shows are obligation to the community and the club’s desire to keep our Central Oregon highways green and clean.
Next “trashy” date is October 24th before the snow sets in. Come join your fellow members for a fun and stress free time!
