The House that Tom Built – March 2016

Mike Sampson - High Desert PCA Director at Large The HDR-PCA March monthly dinner meeting was held in the Porsche showroom / sales office. Rene, Jim, Rob, and Wolfgang removed the cars, and set up our usual dinner layout in the showroom to prepare for a special Octoberfest Dinner to honor Tom Anderson.  Ann ordered a German dinner menu from Tate and Tate, reflecting on Tom’s annual Octoberfest event that the entire community looked forward to each year. It was time to remember all that Tom accomplished for the community and especially our High Desert Region members.  We served 74 members that evening. Tom Anderson did not just create a very successful Porsche dealership; he created and fostered a unique culture, which stands today.  TOM and his team did not sell cars.  Under his leadership, dreams were matched with the right choice of Porsche to make possible all that the buyer was looking for.  Tom and the Porsche Team remained close to each buyer, not just on the Service side, but involvement with their lives, plans, and participated in many of our events.  His leadership provided a club like or special atmosphere that we were all a part of.  Carrera Motors was a very special kind of company. The Kendall Auto Group is committed to keeping that culture as change moves Porsche forward into new exciting areas.  As you know the Porsche showroom will be replaced with a new larger showroom in the next few months.  The Audi building is already gone.  Porsche will be next.  It is for that reason that we felt that now was the time to honor Tom and the culture he established. Be sure to attend the April dinner meeting, back in Club Carrera April 20th, to sign the banner you see in the photo.  It will be given to Karen Anderson as a memento of this March event.
