Membership Update – by Hack Heyward

We’ve had thirteen new members join the High Desert Region during the first quarter of 2016.  This compares with eleven during the same period last year and eight in 2014.  In recent years about 20% of the annual total of new members joins in the first quarter.  For example eleven out of the eventual 54 new members for 2015 joined in the first quarter.  If this pattern holds, we can expect a total of 63 new members during 2016.

Total membership at the end of 2015 was 374, with 221 of these being primary members.  If we do gain 63 new members during 2016, we can expect total membership to rise to 437 with 258 of these being primary members.  This would represent a 16.8% annual increase in membership for 2016.  The 2015 annual increase in membership was 15.4% and the 2014 annual increase was 13.7%.  This is not just steady growth, but a steady increase in our rate of growth.

Rob Wright joined in January with his 2016 911 GT3 RS.  Also Michael Gibbons joined with a blue 2016 911 GTS Cabriolet.  And Steve Cox joined with his gray 2016 Panamera 4.

In February we likewise had three new members.  Jeffery Katz joined with his mahogany 2016 Macan S.  Also joining with a white 2016 Macan S were Stefano Ruede and Nancy Saxton.

March was a big month.  Brendan Gallaher joined with a signal yellow 1973 911 Carrera RS 2.7.  Then Stephanie Donovan joined with her gray 2013 911 Carrera.  Next were Ryan and Christine Killgore with their white 2013 Cayenne GTS. Also joining in March were Les and Susan Robbins with their blue 2015 911 Targa 4S.  Richard Leble joined with his blue 2014 Cayenne.  Then Beverly Downer joined with her 2016 Macan Turbo.  Phillip Au closed out the March membership addition, with his 2016 GT silver 911 Carrera 4 GTS coupe.

Ten members reached their fifth anniversary with the club during the first quarter of 2016.  Congratulations to:

  • Mike and Sharon McCarthy
  • Steven and David Scholz
  • James DeBoer
  • Joe Mansfield
  • Joel and Julia Gisler
  • Rick and Jolyn Johnson

Although we did not have any members reaching a tenth anniversary, four members reached their fifteenth anniversary with the High Desert Region during the first quarter of 2016.  Very special congratulations to:

  • Mike and Kathy Simmons
  • David and Maureen Vadman
